This summer camp in Houston is an all day affair (8:45-4:15) for campers from ages 6-12. The price is $375/week and activities are tailored to campers ages. One of the best parts of this, is campers get to up close and personal with the animals! Although, this does come in at a close second to going behind the scenes and exploring parts of the zoo that only staffers are allowed to enter!
Bonus Tips: Bring PLENTY of water, and members get early registration (February 7)
Do your kids love cooking and/or baking? Do they love watching chef shows or insist on trying new dinner ideas at home? I KNOW your kids would love this camp then. Sur la Table is offering camps for kids ages 7-11. The camp is 5 days a week and lasts from 2-2.5 hours. This is the perfect amount of time to either decompress and get a pedicure or shopping done…or if you need to work, head over to Starbucks and grab you some much needed quiet time. Kids will make everything from scratch with different global menus everyday. Plus, they learn some new skills they can use to help you in the kitchen AND you pick them up nice and full. That’s one less meal you need to stress about. Win Win!
NASA offers camps for kids ages 4-11, more precisely divided up by ages for each camp. You have the option to participate in a 1 day camp or a 5 day camp. Some of the themes this year are building rockets, design space habitats, and program robots. My kids have LOVED the robot camp so much, and come home with some really neat skills. Maybe I can talk my husband into letting me go to the Mars Explorers one haha (This Houston summer camp for kids looks legit amazing!)

Bonus Tip: Even if you’re local to Houston, Galveston may be quite a trek for five days in a row. Consider doing the overnight Sea Camp. It’ll feel like they are away from home, but not super far for homesickness to be a big thing.
