Houston Summer Camps for Kids:

Camp Zoofari by the Houston Zoo (Animals)

This summer camp in Houston is an all day affair (8:45-4:15) for campers from ages 6-12. The price is $375/week and activities are tailored to campers ages. One of the best parts of this, is campers get to up close and personal with the animals! Although, this does come in at a close second to going behind the scenes and exploring parts of the zoo that only staffers are allowed to enter!

Bonus Tips: Bring PLENTY of water, and members get early registration (February 7)

Sur la Table (Baking)

Do your kids love cooking and/or baking? Do they love watching chef shows or insist on trying new dinner ideas at home? I KNOW your kids would love this camp then. Sur la Table is offering camps for kids ages 7-11. The camp is 5 days a week and lasts from 2-2.5 hours. This is the perfect amount of time to either decompress and get a pedicure or shopping done…or if you need to work, head over to Starbucks and grab you some much needed quiet time. Kids will make everything from scratch with different global menus everyday. Plus, they learn some new skills they can use to help you in the kitchen AND you pick them up nice and full. That’s one less meal you need to stress about. Win Win!

Explorer Camps by NASA (Science)

NASA offers camps for kids ages 4-11, more precisely divided up by ages for each camp. You have the option to participate in a 1 day camp or a 5 day camp. Some of the themes this year are building rockets, design space habitats, and program robots. My kids have LOVED the robot camp so much, and come home with some really neat skills. Maybe I can talk my husband into letting me go to the Mars Explorers one haha (This Houston summer camp for kids looks legit amazing!)

  • Pricing for one day camp is $64.95
  • Pricing for five day camp is $299.95

Texas ATM Sea Camp (Marine Biology)

This summer camp in Houston for kids is for the aspiring marine biologist!

Sea Camp (Overnight week long)

  • Kids ages 10-18 have “access to research vessels, oceanographic equipment, laboratory facilities, and a professional staff enabling you to learn about the ocean through hands-on experiences.”

Sea Campus Kids (Day Camp)

  • Kids ages 4-11 for a “Hands-on” and “Feet-in” marine adventure! Sea Campus Kids is very popular with our young marine biologists in training! Each week, the theme changes, so this is a great camp for parents who need repeated weekly childcare options throughout summer. Also, they offer full or half day as well!

Bonus Tip: Even if you’re local to Houston, Galveston may be quite a trek for five days in a row. Consider doing the overnight Sea Camp. It’ll feel like they are away from home, but not super far for homesickness to be a big thing.

Main Street Theatre (Arts)

Think you have a drama king or queen on your hands? This camp is a good way to find out! Main Street Theatre camps are inclusive of all levels of drama experience. Camps last either 1,2, or 3 weeks and at the end of every camp, a play is put on by the campers to showcase their skills! Friends and family are invited to attend (Free admission, too!) Camps are offered in Midtown, Rice Village, and Bellaire. This summer camp in Houston for kids has something to offer for anyone ages 4-14.

Victory Camp (Inter-denominational Youth Ministry)

This camp is based out of Alvin and has offerings from 1st through 8th grade. Victory Camp boasts having all sorts of activities such as “swimming, waterslides, go-karts, sports, outdoor activities, paddleboats, crafts, new friends, games, and the famous blob tower” but their focus mission is bringing youth to know Jesus. This camp is known for having repeat campers every year because they really invest into the kids during their time spent there. They offer day camps and over night camps for specific age groups. Love this summer camp in Houston for kids.
