Looking for a cruise for your romantic Galveston Getaway? Colonel Paddlewheel Boat is a 45 minute boat ride through the Galveston waters. They offer day cruises if you’re wanting to really see the waters, or dinner cruises if sunset and booze are more your jam. This boat is the classic Galveston tour boat, and everyone knows it!
Hello? This screams romantic Galveston getaway! I have always wanted to do this, and haven’t had the chance in Galveston. I have done this on vacation in other cities, but Galveston is on my bucket list. There’s something about eating a specially prepared meal for you and your loved one while watching the sunset over the horizon. Can’t get more serene than that, can it? Check out this site to find the perfect chef for your date night.
This is a rather new place to visit, I’d say in the last 5-8 years or so. It has all sorts of rides and carnival games, year round. The ferris wheel is a main attraction and can be seen from miles and miles away!
1892 Bishops Palace is a Historic Landmark and makes for a really interesting tour! It’s Victorian beauty is not to be ignored. If you’re looking for really amazing architectural history, Galveston will not leave you disappointed.
These are super popular in Galveston and if you’re wanting to spook your honey so she will cuddle up with you for protection, go on this one! These tours aren’t only around Halloween-they are offered all year long!
I’m not sure the history behind this, but there are a lot of tarrot card readers and psychics in Galveston. Wanting to know if you’re lady love is one for keepin’? Ask one of the many readers here to find out on your romantic Galveston getaway! While you’re at it, stop in at the Witchery for some really cool artifacts! Even if this isn’t something you believe in, it’s just a cool experience to walk through.
There are the most quaint little places to shop on the strand. A lot of them are very hippie and green and old timey, and I love them so much. Get you some patchouli, a piece of handmade art, or a piece of fudge from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and you’ll be in Heaven.
If you’re looking for a fun and silly thing to do, the Duck Boat tour is where it’s at. You have to get a picture of yourself on the boat/car thing! It’s a vehicle that has wheels to drive on land, AND is a boat, so it goes into the ocean as well. Don’t ask me the mechanics-I don’t know. But I have heard Captain Dave is the bomb!
There is a lot of historical information about the Seawall too. The wall was literally built after the Storm of 1900. By 1904, the wall was built in order to protect the island of Galveston. Read here for really cool information on it!
According to Trip Advisors site, “The Grand 1894 Opera House is the official Opera House of the State of Texas as designated by the 73rd legislature”. What I can say, is it’s really beautiful and old and has some great plays there year round. You should definitely check out the Christmas Story and plays there during Christmas time!
This is a list that covers a lot of what you can do for a romantic Galveston getaway, but I promise you, there are SO many more things you can do too!
