If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in Texas, this little island has a lot to offer for a variety of people. From wild Mardi Gras celebrations, spooky haunted mansion tours, to relaxing luxury hotels–you can be guaranteed to find your happy place here.
So, what doesn’t Austin have?
You will not be disappointed if you book a trip to one of my favorite glamping romantic getaways in Texas.
Market Days in Wimberly are really popular and there is a reason! Listen, I hate to call it a flea market because that term doesn’t have a romantic or nice connotation to it. But, the best way to describe market days are like Chip and Joanna Gaines flea market trips! In the 20 acre market, the finds here range from homemade jams, to vintage antique furniture, to custom made art signage for anything you can imagine. The possibilities are endless. After spending the day shopping, why not get a couples massage at one of their best rated spas, the Blair House. Trust me, your feet will thank you.
AKA Texas Wine Country.
That says it all, folks. No need to look further! hahaha all kidding aside, Fredericksburg is an all around amazing choice for a romantic Texas getaway, because of the wine country. Furthermore, make a day of it and get a little tipsy by booking a wine tour. No need to worry about driving back and forth. They will tote your tipsy butt all around town!
As the 4th largest city in the U.S., there is no shortage of offerings! I wrote a blog post recently about visiting the Mexican free tailed bats at Waugh Bridge, and I highly recommend it! For a real romantic dining experience, go to Grazia in Pearland. After dinner, ask if you can go into the Speakeasy and if allowed, they will give you a private password. When you enter in through the private entrance, you will pick up the telephone in the old style telephone booths. If you have the right password, say it into the phone to get in! Inside, you are transported into another era with decor matching the theme and drinks that can’t be beat.

In summary, Texas has so many options for travel and relaxation. If you haven’t been here, run!
